For anyone visiting our lovely town, this pretty café could so easily be missed and what a huge loss that would be on a sunny day!
Tucked away in the Parade shopping centre, River View café does exactly what it says on the tin. And unlike some places that promise panoramic views and deliver a glimpse of someone else’s patio, this one truly opens out onto a stunner, overlooking a peaceful stretch of the Severn and the historic Gay Meadow site.

Inside, the café offers a cosy haven for greyer days, with simple, welcoming décor and plenty of seating. But make no mistake – the outdoor space is the star of the show, with tables shaded by parasols and the peace of the flowing river just beyond, it’s no wonder that when the sun’s out so is everyone else.
The menu is classic English café fare, no fuss, just good solid food. We went for cheddar and salad sandwiches that didn’t skimp on filling, served with cool lemonades, followed by flat whites, beautifully presented and piping hot (just as we like it).
So, whether you’re popping by for a peaceful solo coffee or gathering with friends in the sunshine, we love the River View Café for its beauty and tranquillity, right in the heart of our bustling town.
