A brand new women’s health initiative has launched in Shrewsbury with strong community backing and a successful launch event that took place last month.

The programme, titled Empower Her, has been created by Jenna Blair and Hattie Thorpe-Gunner, who led a successful crowdfunding campaign with support from local residents and Shropshire Council. Together, they raised nearly £6,000 to bring the project to life.

The launch event was held on Friday 25 April at the Jenna Blair Yoga Wellbeing Centre in Belle Vue, Shrewsbury. It featured a series of inspiring talks and discussions led by local professionals working in women’s health, including Dr Melanie Thompson, Angela Laughlin, Natalie Jackson, Hattie Thorpe-Gunner and Jenna Blair.

A Resource for Women Across Shropshire

Empower Her is designed to support women at all life stages, from puberty to menopause. The project will offer free and reduced-cost yoga classes, holistic therapies and educational workshops aimed at improving physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.

The programme was created with accessibility in mind and is specifically tailored to women who may otherwise struggle to access or afford this kind of support. It will serve as a central resource for information and community-based care across Shropshire.

How to Get Involved

Classes and workshops are now open for booking through Jenna Blair Yoga, with new sessions and services being added as the programme grows.
