Get ready for big laughs, big hair and even bigger shoulder pads. Shropshire Drama Company is hitting the road this June with its latest production of John Godber’s iconic comedy Bouncers, and Shrewsbury is on the tour list.

The high-energy play will be performed at The Hive in Shrewsbury on Saturday 21 June, promising a night of fast-paced fun and unforgettable 80s nostalgia.

A Comedy Classic with a Twist

Set in a northern nightclub in the 1980s, Bouncers follows four doormen – Lucky Eric, Judd, Les and Ralph – as they guard the velvet rope and relive one wild night from every angle. The twist? These four actors also play all the clubbers, girls, lads, hairdressers and party-goers who come through the doors.

It’s gritty, hilarious and cleverly choreographed, packed with sharp dialogue and plenty of heart. Think neon lights, cheesy tunes, and characters you’ll recognise the moment they step on stage.

SDC is taking the show on a short but punchy tour around the region. Here’s where and when you can catch it:

For the past two years we’ve taken SDC shows around the county and beyond. As a result, we’ve developed an excellent working relationship with a number of venues, so it’s great to return to some of them again with a fun production. And Bouncers really is fun! Anyone who has been to a night club, and even people who haven’t, will recognise some of the characters portrayed in John Godber’s excellent script.
